Original ink, graphite and wash painting by French sculptor Charles Malfray (1887-1940). Charles Malfray (1887-1940) was a French sculptor. Malfray survived the First World War after being gassed and taking part in the Battle of Verdun, but was deeply affected by his experiences.

THE COMPOSITION EXUDES SOPHISTICATION, TRANQUILITY, AND OLD-WORLD CHARM. SIMPLY AMAZING. THIS WORK IS SIGNED BY WILLIAM JOHN EDMONDSON. IT DATES AROUND THE 1920s. EXCELLENT OVERALL CONDITION. Edmondson studied primarily with Lefebvre but would also have received lessons from Adolphe Bouguereau.
Art Deco Industrial Painting William P Brown Pennsylvania Railroad Yard 1937
He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This painting is a very nice example of his work. If you research him, you will find that he painted the art work in Coit Tower, San Francisco.

Mildred Bunting Miller was born in Philadelphia and attended Lafayette College, John Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland. She attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1910-15) and studied with Thomas Anshutz, Hugh Breckenridge, Daniel Garber, and Violet Oakley.
