Franz Georg Ehmke (born 08 February 1928 in Berlin, died 09. February 2018 in Berlin) was a German painter and author After training as a garden and landscape designer at the Horticultural Teaching and Research Institute (LuFA) in Berlin-Dahlem, he initially worked in a state design office in East Berlin. He has been working as a freelancer since 1957 and has been working as a journalist since 1965 as a writer, photographer, illustrator and painter for book and magazine publishers. From the 1960s he devoted himself intensively to pastel painting. Works were created with predominantly Brandenburg motifs, mostly landscapes. An important piece of topographical documentation of northern Berlin and the surrounding area from the time of reunification and the GDR. Another focus of the last twenty.
