Fantastic, drip oil painting by Van Guard Studios in CaliforniaSigned “Van Gaard” in the lower right corner, which, apparently, was a collective pseudonym for the artists who worked at Vanguard Studios in California in the 1960s Painting shows a steamer paddleboat in gold and black drip oil against twilight hues of purple, blue and ivory. *Please note that the monitor and lighting might make the color appear somewhat different than the actual color*Back is covered with brown paper and hangs by a metal wire stretched acrossThere is a sticker on the back for Van Guard Studios and “180-C” written on the paper at the bottomNote some scratches/scuffs in the background paint; one area of damage to an oil drip (pic #7); nicks/dents and scratches to the wood frame; tears, two significant, to the paper on the back; and a loose staple on the back.
