Artist: Charles H. Ramsey Jr. was born in August of 1929. While attending Staples High School he also attended art classes at the Silvermine Arts Center in nearby New Canaan. After high school he joined the army and served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1952.

In his long career he illustrated children?s books, album covers, and countless magazine articles. His artwork is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Indianapolis Museum of Art, among others.
