This is a 20th century hand-painted page copying either an original or inspired by a 19th century illuminated manuscript page having script both above and below the image, 8-1/2″h x 5″w, in a purple mat “floated” over a white backing with in molded goldtone frame, 15-1/2″h x 1-1/2″w. Note the significant detail in the painting of the male figures, almost having individually recognizable faces as they stand on three levels before the seated Rajah underneath a pavilion on the top level, backed by plants with pink flowers.
