Franz Georg Ehmke (born 08 February 1928 in Berlin, died 09. February 2018 in Berlin) was a German painter and author After training as a garden and landscape designer at the Horticultural Teaching and Research Institute (LuFA) in Berlin-Dahlem, he initially worked in a state design office in East Berlin. He has been working as a freelancer since 1957 and has been working as a journalist since 1965 as a writer, photographer, illustrator and painter for book and magazine publishers. From the 1960s he devoted himself intensively to pastel painting. Works were created with predominantly Brandenburg motifs, mostly landscapes.
