Jacques CINQUIN (1942-2019) Aubusson. L’Espérance 1965. Geometric Abstract Art

Jacques Cinquin was born on October 1, 1942 in Paris. A graduate of the National School of Applied Arts in the capital, he settled in Aubusson in 1967, becoming a teacher of painting at ENAD. In the years that followed, he made two stays in the USA, collaborating with painters for the development of tapestries of small formats. He settled definitively in Aubusson in 1970, therefore sharing between teaching (later appointed in 1983 Mural art teacher at the Enad d’Aubusson) and creation. Cinquin, who came to Aubusson on the advice of one of his teachers, Robert Wogensky (recently disappeared), was quickly won by the Tapestry virus, first in contact with artists Tourlière and Jacques Lagrange. He anchored his work in Aubusson while exhibiting in France and abroad. He has always worked by them.
