Ulysse Cambrai (1904-1967) Oil on Panel “Port dans la nuit” Signed Framed Akoun
The color palette used by Cambrai is dominated by deep hues of midnight blue, purple and black, evoking the tranquility and mystery of the night. The moon, discreetly present in the sky, projects a soft light which is reflected on the surface of the water, creating fascinating plays of light. The buildings in the background, with distinct architectural forms, appear to stand as silent silhouettes, adding a dimension of depth and grandeur to the scene. Cambrai’s brushwork is both delicate and expressive, capturing the texture of the waves, the shape of the boats and the dreamlike atmosphere of the port. Every detail is rendered with remarkable artistic sensitivity, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in this nocturnal scene. Oil painting, Ulysse Cambrai, Port at night, Nocturnal art,.
