Vintage Oil Painting “Town Landing” in New Hampshire
this is a cute vintage oil painting showing a very rural village’s boat “landing” at the back end of a cove somewhere near Freeport, Maine – in the foreground are two dory type rowboats red & white in color – they are moored at the water’s edge in the back part of the cove – in the middle of the painting is an old fisherman’s cottage painted in shades of weatherbeaten brown, gray, & black colors – there are some small buoys hanging on the sides of the cottage – in the background, we see two more similar style cottages at the back of a field – in the background, we see a dense section of woods over which is a bright blue sky interspersed with white puffy clouds – overall, it is a very peaceful rural summertime scene which one sees often in the small towns in Maine – the painting measures 12″ x 9″ sight size, & is in very good condition – it is well-enhanced by its original gilt-painted double wooden frame which measures 15″ x 12″, & which is also in very good condition –
