Antique 19th century Neapolitan School oil painting featuring the bay of Naples with the famous Castel dell’Ovo in the right foreground, Mount Vesuvius in the distance, and sail boats emerging on the left. No visible artist signature (could be hidden under the frame – painting might have been reframed). Mounted in an ornate wood carved frame, the painting measures 33″ wide by 27″ tall. In good vintage condition, with signs of wear consistent with age: a few light small paint chips noted and there is a light ripple in the canvas near the left top corner (see close-up pictures). The painting could also benefit from some cleaning to brighten up the colors. The frame has a few scuffs/chips.
