C1900 Catskills New York Landscape With Fisherman W/C Signed. Milton H Lowell
For sale is a wonderful original watercolor by the well known New York Artist Milton H Lowel (1848 – 1927) Lowell painted almost exclusively in the Adirondacks, Catskills and Hudson River Valley of upstate New York, although he did occasionally venture to other areas of the Northeast to capture beautiful landscapes. Here he captures a quaint yet superbly rendered watercolor of a landscape with serene pond and a lone fisherman passing the day away in his boat fishing for the days catch, or just enjoying an early autumn day on the water. The foliage suggests early fall as colors of yellows oranges and reds can be seen on the tree leaves. A gem of a watercolor by Milton Lowell. Circa 1900 in age. Signed lower left by the artist.
