Rosenfeld was born in Poland in 1905 and was educated at the Academy of Warsaw and the Academy of Art in Krakow, Poland. He was the son of noted muralist, Joseph Rosenfeld. Alexander began painting at the age of six and by the age of 21 had painted portraits of many prominent people in Poland.
