I believe the pair is from the early 1800s (1830-40) and is likely from the Northeatern US, likely Pennsylvania. From a Central Ohio estate full of fine antiques and art.

It is a wonderful, small, original painting and is signed on the front and the lower right hand corner. Over the years there is a slight buildup underneath the glass which is not unusual for old paintings, but the painting is in very good condition.
