Marilyn Monroe Original hand scrimshaw of Marilyn Monroe by myself Sherry Sellers on micarta flat. Signed and dated on right hand side. Scrimshaw is one of the oldest forms of art where you scratch or poke tiny holes with a very sharp tool into a surface and then fill in the area with ink or pain. The micarta is a much warmer color than pictured, and try as I may, I just can’t capture the detail in it. A display made of mahogany (I think) is included.
