Antique 19c. Original Oil Painting French school Huntress, Signed, Gild Frame

A striking 19th-century French School oil on canvas depicting a classical huntress poised within a shadowed woodland setting. Draped in rich red fabric and shown in contrapposto, the figure turns toward the viewer with quiet intensity, her bow and arrows forming symbolic attributes of strength, discipline, and mythological femininity. The composition draws directly from academic traditions inspired by Antiquity, where idealized form and narrative restraint were paramount.Executed in the manner of William-Adolphe Bouguereau, the painting reflects refined academic training through its careful anatomical modeling, smooth transitions of flesh tones, and controlled chiaroscuro.
