Minature Impasto Oil Painting Roses in Vase Signed 4.25″ x 3.25″ Unframed Canvas

Beautiful vintage miniature impasto oil painting on canvas. The painting measures just over 4 1/4″ wide by just over 3 1/4″ high. The stretcher is 1/2″ thick. The painting depicts a black vase full of pink roses on a pale pink background. The roses are thick oil paint and are textured to look like petals that seem to pop out of the picture. The painting is signed and it appears the first 3 letters are “Rud” but I could not identify the artist. The canvas is attached to the stretcher with relatively even spaced nails on each side which tends to date this piece to pre 1940 which is when staples began to be used to mount canvases. It is in excellent, undamaged and clean condition.

It measures 4.1 inches high, 4.25 inches wide, and is 0.25 inches thick. It is signed H. McGee in the lower right corner and was purchased directly from the artist at the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival sometime between 2006 and 2012. It will ship double boxed with the card shown in the photo and a small plastic stand.
