This 19th century portrait of a bearded man set in an ornate frame. Measuring 25 inches in length and 29 inches in height, this canvas or paper captures the essence of Realism and Portraiture during the Historicism period. The American culture and theme are reflected in the detailed portrayal of a man, making it a unique and valuable piece of art from the 1800s. Please note – this portrait is very old and frame shows signs of wear as can be seen in photos. There is a small portion of glass broken off in the upper right corner, and there are pieces of the frame which have chipped off as can be seen in close ups.
