C1900 Catskills New York Landscape With Fisherman W/C Signed. Milton H Lowell
For sale is a wonderful original watercolor by the well known New York Artist Milton H Lowel (1848 – 1927) Lowell painted almost exclusively in the Adirondacks, Catskills and Hudson River Valley of upstate New York, although he did occasionally venture to other areas of the Northeast to capture beautiful landscapes. Here he captures a quaint yet superbly rendered watercolor of a landscape with serene pond and a lone fisherman passing the day away in his boat fishing for the days catch, or just enjoying an early autumn day on the water. The foliage suggests early fall as colors of yellows oranges and reds can be seen on the tree leaves. A gem of a watercolor by Milton Lowell. Circa 1900 in age. Signed lower left by the artist. Gallery framed under glass. Not Examined Out of frame Condition: Very good Measurements Framed – 18” x 26” Sight – 11 3/4” x 19 3/4” Not Examined Out of Frame Milton H Lowel (1848 – 1927) Lowell was a painter of pastoral New England landscapes and Adirondack Mountain scenes, painting in the same areas as 19th century artists Samuel Coleman, William Hart and George Smillie. While he studied in Boston with Yardley, he was largely self-taught. Lowell also painted works for art calendars. His son, Orson, would be a well-known painter and illustrator for magazines, books and calendars. Milton Lowell was born in 1848, in Lamberton, New York. He was a member of the New Rochelle Art Association, in New York. He died in 1927.

Early 1900’s Original Pastel Chalk Portrait Of Girl, 14″ x 17″ Signed “Allen”
Up for sale is an original chalk pastel painting from the early 1900’s. I can not tell for sure, but I believe the painting is from the 20’s. The painting is all original and unrestored, however it does have some condition issues as the photos show. The corners are rounded off, and there appears to be a stain at the very top of the painting. The stain may have been intentionally added but I can not confirm. On the back there is the name ” ALLEN” written in script. Allen may be the artist but I could not find any information on the signature online. Frame is new and displays the piece well. Dont miss out! The painting itself measures 14L x 17H. The frame measures 18L x 22H. INV: back rack
